The Strathclyde Executive MBA is being promoted and delivered for more than 25 years in Athens, Greece by International Management Studies. International Management Studies (IMS) is the University’s Greek branch. IMS College provides local administrative services as well as seminars and examinations. SBS provides core teaching materials and sends Strathclyde University faculty members to Greece to run intensive seminars.
The program is launched with a very strong focus on Leadership/Coaching/Personal Development Plan, as well as a Strategic Leadership Challenge. This is followed by regular two or three day seminars (about twice a month, on a weekend and one evening per week). Participants are required to complete a range of preparatory tasks and readings both from published materials and materials specially commissioned by Strathclyde Business School before seminars. In each subject, the seminars are led by faculty from the University of Strathclyde Business School, supported by Local Counselors and Global Practitioners, and will focus on the key theories, principles, case studies, and practical applications of the area under discussion. Finally, the capstone project which leads to the MBA award consists of either a research dissertation, an entrepreneurial or consultancy projects, which can be directly selected from the real corporate world.
The program is flexible and responsive to the needs of working individuals. It allows you to study whilst continuing with your career and allows you to implement your learning into work.

The programme is structured over 4 semesters; there are 2 semesters a year and each semester is approximately 5 ½ months long.

Entry Requirements for the MBA
- Copies of all University Degrees/Diplomas.
- Official Transcripts (certified copy of English translation in case the transcripts are not in English or Greek).
- Certified copy of English language: Cambridge or Michigan Proficiency/TOEFL/IELTS, or any other certificate of English language at C2 level.
- CV in English
- Proof of full employment record. Admission requires a minimum of three years full-time postgraduate working experience
- Two recommendation letters either educational or employer.
Entry at Diploma level may be offered to applicants who do not hold sufficient recognized degree level qualifications, but who do:
- Hold non-degree/professional qualifications plus at least five years’ varied management experience.
- Have no formal qualifications but extensive and varied management experience (10 or more years).
- Are exceptional candidates over the age of 24 with a minimum of two years’ managerial experience. This is available only to candidates applying to routes other than full-time.
The Strathclyde Executive MBA with a specialism in Shipping

The Strathclyde Executive MBA with a specialism in Shipping is a collaboration between Strathclyde’s Business faculty and its department of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Marine Engineering (NAOME). It is being promoted and delivered in Athens, Greece by International Management Studies. International Management Studies (IMS) is the University’s Greek branch. The dept. of NAOME spans more than 100 years of existence by which time they have built upon Glasgow’s rich heritage of naval architecture and shipbuilding, providing first class graduates and research for the maritime, oil & gas and offshore renewables industries across the world. Over the last twenty years NAOME has made a major contribution to the safety of ships around the world while also researching a wide range of challenges from reducing carbon emissions from shipping and optimizing ship operations to developing new types of floating wind turbines and new tools for modeling fluid loads on floating structures.
It is an MBA specifically designed for high potential executives in global shipping and the maritime sector. Being flexible and responsive to the needs of working individuals, it allows you to study whilst continuing with your career and allows you to implement your learning into work.
