If you choose Sunderland, you’ll be joining a global community of students from all over the world.\u00a0Around a fifth of our students come from outside of the UK and each year we welcome new students from over 100 countries.\u00a0The University was ranked 9th in the \u2018International\u2019 category of the Whatuni Student Choice Awards (WUSC) 2019.\u00a0The WUSC are the only national awards voted for by students. The QS Stars World University Ranking 2019 awarded Sunderland\u00a0five stars<\/strong>\u00a0(the highest accolade) for\u00a0teaching<\/strong>\u00a0in their prestigious stars rating system. In addition, the University received five stars for employability, internationalisation, inclusiveness and outstanding facilities.<\/p>\n

Post-study work visa<\/strong><\/p>\n

The UK government recently announced plans for a new two-year post-study work visa, expanding opportunities for international graduates to build successful careers in the UK.<\/p>\n

Under the proposals, International students at British universities graduating in the 2020\/21 academic year would be allowed to stay in the UK for up to two years after graduating, compared with four months currently.<\/p>\n
