The establishment of the School of Medicine at European University Cyprus has been pivotal to the institution\u2019s aims to be part of the country\u2019s prominence as a regional medical provider. The organization of the School of Medicine is based on EU directives and international standards, and it has been founded in collaboration with distinguished scholars from Cyprus and abroad. Students are taught and trained in Cyprus. Teaching is conducted in English, with a minimum work load of 360 ECTS of the education and training required to complete the Bachelor of Medicine Degree over six years. No \u2018premedical\u2019 coursework is required as the program of study provides an all-inclusive, full basic sciences thematic unit.<\/p>\n

The School of Medicine is characterized by a dynamic learning environment which enables students to develop the necessary skills and attributes required to practice medicine. The curriculum is skilledbased but students will be exposed to clinical work and clinical relevance starting from the first year of study, and this hands-on, practical approach will be maintained throughout the six years of the course of study.<\/p>\n

The School of Medicine serves as the regional \u2018educational medical-platform\u2019, providing high-caliber education in medicine and healthcare, targeting not only residents of Cyprus, but also international medical student candidates from Europe, Asia, the Americas, Africa and the Middle East.<\/p>\n

Medical<\/a><\/p>\n

European University Cyprus educational model aims at making future graduates able to function anywhere within the EU and other international health care systems. To achieve this purpose, the medical graduate will be equipped with all the traditional traits and contemporary knowledge and advanced skills that rightfully come with the acquisition of a prestigious medical qualification conferred by an accredited EU university such as European University Cyprus.<\/p>\n

The training of the students at the European University Cyprus\u2019 School of Medicine is oriented to the preparation of up-to-date, competent, ethical and fully adaptable medical doctors with the resourcefulness necessary to face inevitable changes in the field that develop over time. It will focus on its students\u2019 acquisition of the most efficient clinical skills and on the implementation of professional ethics in the field of medicine.<\/p>\n

The School of Medicine at European University Cyprus has an integrated system-based curriculum and employs a variety of approaches to its teaching-learning methods. These include lectures, problem-based learning, task-based learning, practical classes, independent learning, clinical skills sessions, virtual learning and clinical training with patient contact at the public and private hospitals in Cyprus.<\/p>\n

The early exposure of students to clinical experiences emphasizes the importance of the basic sciences to its clinical application and serves to stimulate students\u2019 interest in medicine. Also, it allows students to further develop professional communication skills and to view the whole patient and not just the illnesses he or she suffers from.<\/p>\n

This clinical exposure to real-life patients starts as early as the first year of study. Students will have patient contact at hospitals as approved by the Ministry of Health for the clinical teaching of the European University Cyprus medical students.<\/p>\n

Students will have access to private and state-run hospitals throughout Cyprus and particularly the Larnaca General Hospital.<\/p>\n

The European University Cyprus School of Medicine is accredited by the Evaluation Committee of Private Universities of the Ministry of Education and Culture (MOEC), approved by Hellenic Naric and listed in the International Medical Directory of FAIMER (Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
